All ages (18+) and abilities are able to come along for the ride - just choose your pack according to your needs! We promise you'll be stoked by the quick rate of progression in your ski or snowboarding skills.

Just because we allow beginners on this tour doesn't mean we aren't serious about the snow. Experienced skiers and riders will be more than satisfied with the terrain, along with guidance from our expert tour managers. Heli-skiing is a highlight for many!

In the evening you are welcome to relax at the accommodation, soak in the local hot tub(s), cook in, eat out, go partying or even night skiing... whatever takes your fancy.

There are three different packs for this snow tour:

Beginner Pack (N$1,999): includes 2 days' group lessons and learner's lift passes, 4 days' full lift passes, and ski/snowboard hire for the week.
Lift Pass and Hire Pack (N$1,899): includes 6 days' full lift passes and ski/snowboard hire for the week.
Lift Pass Only Pack (N$1,799): includes 6 days' full lift passes.

What is the average / max size of a snow tour group?

The maximum size of a snow tour is 16 people. We can book out in advance for tours during peak season (early August) so our average passengers can be very close to 16 but at other times we can run with as low as 4.

What is the tour bus like?

We normally use a 22 seater Toyota Coaster, with a trailer for all your gear. As we only fill the bus to a maximum of 16 people, there are always some extra seats to lounge about!

Who are the tour guides?

Our Tour Managers Steve and Mike are passionate snow-enthusiasts with heaps of experience in guiding! They are there to ensure you have the best time possible! Last year a tour member said Steve had an "ebullient and infectious can-do personality"...! Mike is a current international snowboard judge and was the guide for the Quiksilver Team when they travelled New Zealand with us.

What happens if a mountain is shut?

We make amendments to our tour route if any mountains are shut or have very poor conditions - going to a different mountain if at all possible! If not possible, we will refund the wholesale rate for your lift pass.

Do you operate a minimum numbers policy for the tour to run?

Yes but it is incredibly low at just four people, so it is rare that we would cancel a tour. If you want to check if your tour is definitely running - send us an email!

I am a beginner. Can I purchase more lessons?

Yes. If after your two initial lesson days you still feel you would like more instruction, we can organise this for you on the day. The price is from approx $55 NZD per person for a group lesson.

What is the quality of the hire gear?

The majority of our hire gear is new for this year! Skis are from 4FRNT, Atomic and Salomon. Boards are from Burton and Academy. Poles are from Scott. Clothing is from Aggression and ski boots are from Nordica. Equipment/gear will be hired on the morning of Day One and you will have the same gear for the duration of the tour which means you can get used to it and hence progress much quicker. Your gear will be matched to suit your ability and experience.

What is the standard of the accommodation?

We stay at high quality backpacker hostels and lodges, and all accommodation is reviewed seasonally to make sure it is the best available. The standard accommodation is 4-6 sharing in one room. You can upgrade to a private room (double/twin with ensuite) for the duration of the tour for $599 NZD. (This is the price for the room so if 2 people are booking, the price can be divided by two.)

Can you help me out for extra days before and after the tour?

Yes, we can arrange trips to Mt Hutt near Christchurch with accommodation in Methven, or time at Coronet Peak or The Remarks, with accommodation in Queenstown. Just ask!
