The Lowdown
The outer reefs of Kaikoura will guarantee a close encounter of the aquatic kind with inquisitive seals and dolphin fins piercing the horizon. “Meatworks” is the most famous beach in Kaikoura which has consistent waves whilst 16km north there is a right-hand point break that you’ll be reluctant to leave with a wave that peels along an extensive boulder reef.
Notes
Fitness level: Moderate – must be able to swim.
Included: Surf hire and wetsuit, instruction.
You will need: Swimwear and towel.
